I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.
Former twice unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to really want to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Success
Nevertheless, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, regularly earning huge earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Size Disparity
As both boxers participated in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly happening.
